Exercising Your Power of Choice for 2010

The prolific author and poet, Edgar A. Guest had this to say about the power of choice, "You are the person who has to decide. Whether you'll do it or toss it aside; you are the person who makes up your mind. Whether you'll lead or will linger behind. Whether you'll try for the goal that's afar. Or just be contented to stay where you are."
Have you made up your mind about 2010? With about three weeks before the New Year, there is still time to prepare by choosing what you want it to be like. Many are simply ready to get on with life as it "used to be." Well, I have news for you; life is never going to be like it used to be!
The years 2008 and 2009 will go down in history as a life changing period unlike anything most have ever experienced. Many are already realizing the way we operate our business and personal lives will never be the same. This is a time for personal and corporate recalibration and transformation. I challenge you to exercise your power of choice by setting goals for 2010.
Goal setting provides a focus and a statement of intention and expectations. Goals have the most power to influence your results when they are written as positive declarations with target dates. Once written, continually focus on what you actually do to accomplish them. In doing so, you attract the resources, along with the time and energy to reach them.

Remember the 10, two-letter words that underscore your power of choice: "If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me".
