The Five Essential Skills to Fully Engage and Empower Top Talent
|
1. Create a Safe Environment That Ensures Trust
The leader coach ensures a safety zone is established in which the individual's performance can be mutually examined with openness and trust. The coach-based manager always demonstrates respect for the individual's integrity and good intentions despite the actual results of an individual's performance.
| |
2. Provide Feedback That is Specific, Mutually Developed and Actionable
|
The most effective feedback directly and mutually addresses the gap and how results differ from standards or goals and the behaviors that are causing to unintended results.
| |
3. Build on Team Members Strengths and Unique Potential
|
The most effective strategies build on an individual's unique strengths and potential enabling them to leverage their improved results.
| |
4. Create Dialogue That Develops Accountability and Shared Responsibility
|
When both the coach and the individual listen with mutual respect, mutual trust and mutual purpose and each allows the other to influenced them, the result is shared ownership of both the performance gap and the results of the actions to be taken.
| |
5. Challenge Limiting Assumptions and Create Awareness and Action
|
False assumptions about possible outcomes often result in performance gaps that can be traced to an individual's lack of insight into his or her capabilities or what may really be needed to get the job done. Discussing these assumptions can lead to greater awareness, heightened motivation, and increased effectiveness.

The Cycle of Mastery
As your personal Effectiveness Coach®, I am your guide through the Cycle of Mastery™, a customized process to achieve your specific results.
The Cycle of Mastery is a four-step process as follows:
|

Begin with Awareness which leads to Discovery and Application
- Establishment of Key Accountabilities
The final step before the next "Cycle" is to establish your personal accountabilities against which progress will be measured. This may include Benchmarking the job to define the rewards/culture, behavioral traits and job attributes for comparison with your personal talent report. The plan includes a system of personal accountability within your personal business plan.
- Assessing Your Personal Talents
The Effectiveness Coach® Approach includes the Personal Talent Report, a summary of your talents and reveals the WHY (values), HOW (behaviors) and WHAT (attributes) to master the essential skills.
- Development and Execution of Your Plan
Based on the results of steps 1 and 2, we will develop a plan and begin the journey toward mastery of the essentials skills that will sustain your unique personal and professional (competitive) advantage.

Getting Started-Our Initial Connection
We will have an initial ninety minute consultation following your completion of the online talent assessment, to debrief your talent report.
How We Work Together
The fee for your initial consultation and assessment will be applied to the cost of your first three month coaching engagement. The typical engagement is from six to twelve months. We begin our work together for an initial three-month engagement.
You will complete a focus and scope of work and other information for us to establish the basis for our first three month's of work together, to evaluate where you are and lay out a plan to get you where you want to go.
Subsequent three-month periods are mutually agreed upon, based on your desired focus and scope. You simply disengage whenever you have achieved your desired results. You decide...It's Your Agenda!
Primary Focus
The Effectiveness Coach® Approach is based on the concept...
"When it comes to getting the best performance out of people, the most efficient route is to revel in their strengths, not to focus on their weaknesses."
