Do you wonder what a highly effective looks like?

Most Team Development specialists agree team go through several stages from the time they are created.  The first is the forming stage when members of the team ares mostly concerned about the purpose of the team. Within a short time the team enters the storming stage when the honeymoon is over and frustrations are openly expressed. Some teams mayt choose to disband at this stage.  Many team leaders call in a team development faciltator to guide the team through this stage and on to the Norming stage.  A this point many team suspend development activity and believe they have arrived. Such is not the case.  Consider the following characteristics of a high performing, highly effective team:

In addition to the characteristics of a "real" team: complimentary skills, commitment to a common purpose, performance goals, and an approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable, members of a highly effective team members are deeply committed to one another's pesonal growth and success. How close is your team to this definition?  What challenges does your team face?  Post your comments.
